Twitch Removed From Roku Channel Store

The popular Twitch app has been pulled from the Roku Channel store.

Many Roku Twitch users clicked on their app and had the following message popup, “The Twitch Channel is no longer available in the Roku Channel Store. If you currently have the Twitch channel installed on your Roku device, you will not lose access to it. However, the channel will not receive any further updates.”

A distraught Twitch Roku user video captured the message:

The official Roku Reddit account provided some further details, “We are always looking for ways to enhance your entertainment experience. We will provide an update should Twitch once again become available on the Roku platform.”

Many have speculated that Amazon (owner of Twitch) is looking to make the app an Amazon Fire exclusive.
