Time Warner and CBS are exploring the launch of a streaming version of the popular with teens network, the CW. Currently the companies co own a sister streaming service called the CW Seed.
Time Warner has long said they felt that Netflix and Hulu do not give them fair value for their CW shows. Netflix focusing mainly on back catalog and Hulu with day after airings.
According to an article by Bloomberg the new network would target launching after the current deal with Tribune stations, Netflix, and Hulu expire. The service would cost somewhere between 2$ and $4, and offer live streaming of episodes as they air. The network would also leverage higher renewal fees with OTA (over the air) broadcasters by offering to revenue share in their markets.
