Heartland Comes To Roku

The Heartland Network, Luken Communications’ country music and lifestyle television channel, marked its fifth year on the air yesterday. In celebration, Heartland launched its first over-the-top offering with a channel on the Roku streaming platform.

The new channel, available for free in the Roku channel store, features both live and video on demand programming. The live feed, offered in high definition, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, will show many of the programs available on the traditional broadcast network. The video on demand program selection, available for viewers to watch any time they want, includes select Heartland series and specials, as well as exclusive content available only on Heartland’s digital platform.

Joel Wertman, President of Luken Communications, said, “Our team has been fielding requests for a Heartland channel on Roku® for years. While our broadcast footprint continues to grow by leaps and bounds, we’re pleased to answer the call of over-the-top viewers as well.” Wertman added, “I can’t think of a better way to thank our viewers for five successful years than making Heartland even easier for them to watch.”

The network will also celebrate their anniversary officially later this month with a special concert featuring country music legend Charley Pride as well as Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye and James Otto. Heartland Presents Charley Pride will be held at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Auditorium in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com or by telephone at (800) 745-3000.

Heartland features programming comprised of syndicated and first run shows along with digitally restored content pulled from the vaults of Music Row, creating a country music and lifestyle experience that brings delight to lovers of every generation and genre. The broadcast program lineup includes WSM Radio’s Coffee, Country & Cody, Reflections with host Keith Bilbrey, Bluegrass Ridge, Country Standard Time, Music City Tonight, Texas Music Scene, Gaither Gospel Hour, Larry’s Country Diner, Country’s Family Reunion and several popular video blocks. The network’s newest additions include Songs and Stories with John Berry and Paula Deen’s Positively Paula.
