Cartoon Circus Is Back (Minus A Few Favorites)

As many readers of our site know, the popular Cartoon Circus Roku channel recently went down due to licensing issues. The channel was apparently scammed by a licensor that did not posses the rights to some content they were licensing.

The channel has now relaunched, and they are using a temporary new channel private listing until they can get approval from Roku to relaunch through the channel store.

Here are more details from Cartoon Circus concerning the relaunch via their Facebook page:

December 1st

Greetings! We will be bringing the channel back online today. How you will be able to view the channel will depend on if Roku will require the channel to go through the standard QA process.

If they DO require us to go through QA, we will be providing a link (we will pin it to the top of our Facebook wall, and will provide the link via our Twitter as well). This temporary private channel will be available until we pass QA.

If Roku does NOT require us to go through standard QA we will notify everyone when the channel comes back online through Roku. If this happens, you will be able to just watch the standard channel you already have on your Roku devices.

December 2nd

If you would like to utilize the temporary channel for Cartoon Circus, please follow the link below to add the channel to your Roku device. Once you have added the channel, you may need to go into the settings of your Roku device and tell it to update. Then, the temporary channel will be available to watch.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not the final version of the channel that will be submitted to Roku. There is still a bunch of missing material, and the layout is not completely set up yet. This will, however, give you the chance to watch the material that we currently have available (much more to be added very soon and the channel will be going through Roku’s QA starting tonight.) This QA process can take up to a few weeks due to it being the last month of the year, but we wanted to be sure that our viewers can have something to watch during the winter break!

Please follow this link to add the temporary channel to your Roku:

If you have never added a private channel before we will walk you through it below:

Click on this link.

If you are not already logged into your Roku account it will ask you to log in.

Once logged in you will be asked if you want to add the Cartoon Circus temporary channel.

Select “Yes, Add Channel”.

To view on your Roku you can wait until the device updates overnight or from your home screen go to Settings > System > System Update > Check Now.

The Cartoon Circus temporary channel should now be added to your channel lineup. Please not it looks exactly like your old channel app.  I would recommend deleting the old app to eliminate confusion.

Masters of the Universe and Thundercats will definitely be missed around my house. Did any of your favorites get cut? Comment below.
