The National Rifle Association of America (NRA) has been advocating for gun rights, teaching firearm competency, history and safety since 1934 in schools, trade shows and magazines. Now they are bringing it all to cord cutters via programming on your Roku.
The NRA currently offers 4 channels via the Roku:
The largest of the four NRA Roku channels, it combines content from the other two plus more. From their Roku page, “NRA News is your source for the world’s most comprehensive video coverage of Second Amendment issues, events and culture. For more than a decade, NRANews.com has been delivering hard-hitting, timely news, investigative journalism, commentary and analysis. Today’s NRA News brings together the powerful programs and personalities of NRA Life of Duty, NRA Freestyle and NRA Women into a single platform, bringing you an unmatched authority, expertise and perspective on our right to bear arms. Whether you’re a new shooter or a lifelong advocate, there’s no better place to explore the truth about firearms and the Second Amendment. From the fight for our gun rights, to lifestyle and entertainment, explore all 16 series, season by season, in streaming HD.”
NRA Life of Duty
One of the NRA’s more specialized channels focusing on those who sacrifice to serve, “Every day we pass them by … We stand in line with them, sit by them and even depend on them; yet we may never know their names. Every day, these uncommon heroes among us rise before the sun and retire long after it sets, to avail themselves as America’s first line of defense; willingly sacrificing themselves for things that others take for granted … NRA Life of Duty will continually find ways to ensure that America never forgets them!” —Rick Stewart, NRA Life of Duty Host/Executive Producer
NRA Life of Duty is the National Rifle Association’s most prominent effort to salute and serve the heroes who defend American freedom – young, engaged leaders whose essential contributions to our country often go unnoticed. Our programs tell the stories of military personnel, first responders and law enforcement officers who work every day to protect our nation. Their stories deserve—and need—to be told.”
NRA Freestyle focuses on the lifestyle side of gun ownership, “Who says you can’t like guns just because they’re cool? Welcome to NRA Freestyle, where adventure, style, culture and firearms collide.”
The NRA also has a channel focused solely on women, “NRA Women presented by Smith & Wesson is designed for female gun enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. We are dedicated to promoting women like you who are fighting every day for our freedoms.
NRA Women programming includes everything from instructional videos to stories of empowered women.”
If you are a gun enthusiast there is sure to be something for you amongst these channels. All programs seem to be highly produced and advertisements seem limited to title sponsors.
