PlayOn Launches PlayOn Cloud Storage

MediaMall Technologies today announced the launch of PlayOn Cloud Storage for their PlayOn Cloud customers. PlayOn Cloud turns your mobile phone or tablet into a DVR for streaming video. Launched in November of 2016, PlayOn Cloud allows customers to record and download streaming video from popular sites including Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Hulu, and more. Until today, PlayOn Cloud customers had to download recordings within 30 days or lose them. With the launch of PlayOn Cloud Storage, customers now have the option to store recordings in the cloud until they are able to watch them.

“This is a classic example of ‘you asked for it, you got it,'” boasts CEO Jeff Lawrence. “After launching PlayOn Cloud, our customers said loud and clear that they wanted to be able to store recordings for longer than 30 days. In response, we shifted our product roadmap to quickly meet that demand. With this launch, PlayOn Cloud starts to look very much like a traditional pay-TV DVR. The difference is: this is a DVR for streaming video. There’s nothing else like it in the market today.”

PlayOn Cloud Storage plans start at $2.99/month for 50 GB of storage. Power users can opt for up to a Terabyte of storage. Roku customers can stream their cloud-stored recordings to their Roku (without downloading them) using the free Roku PlayOn Cloud channel. All customers can download and watch PlayOn Cloud recordings at any time. As always, downloaded recordings never expire.
