Roku has made it’s name as the best video streaming device on the market. One of the reasons for that status is they focus the majority of their efforts at giving you the best streaming experience possible. Streaming video though isn’t the only entertainment available on your Roku, video gaming is also an option.
The selection of games available on Roku is hit or miss, as it isn’t a “gaming platform”. The ones they get right though are pretty good. One of my favorite games on the platform is the classic space arcade game Galaga.
The Roku version is made by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. and costs only a one time $4.99.
The game play is very smooth and is just as I remember the old arcade version, though I am sure there are some differences.
“One of the longest running hits in arcade history, Galaga by Namco is back! Board your Fighter; defend against alien fire and escape their collision-course formation attacks. Retrieve captured fighters from the boss alien’s tractor-beam to become a Dual Fighter with double the fire power.”
You can add Galaga via your Roku channel store by searching Galaga and paying with your PIN, or you can click here and add it online via the Roku site.
We’ve also included a brief tutorial below for new Roku users on how to add the game to their device.
