Netflix Talks Massive Expansion Of Originals In 2016

Netflix Chief content officer Ted Sarandos spoke this morning at UBS Media Conference. He made a huge announcement concerning the expansion of original content in 2016 according to an article by The Verge.

Sarandos said “It’s not just a lot of volume. This is quality stuff”, while announcing there would be a total of 31 scripted shows next year. He also told the audience that they have 10 new feature films, 30 kids’ shows, 12 documentaries, and 10 stand-up specials in total in the pipeline (presumably next year and beyond).

With the addition of the new original content and the upcoming slate of Disney films being added in 2016, Netflix should be in good shape to take on HBO, and Hulu (who has recently added a Showtime add on).
