CW Channel App Now Available Free On Roku

The CW channel app has now been added to the Roku channel store.

The app has been long awaited by cord cutting Roku users, as it has been available for a little while on most other platforms.

CW is giving next day access to their programs for free via the app to all users and no cable or satellite credentials are required. In addition you can watch the latest 5 episodes of your favorite CW programs via the app on demand as well.

CW is the first network to give cord cutters this much free access to their programming without cable or satellite authentication, hopefully this will lead to more OTA networks offering their content in this manner via their apps.

The app layout is easy to navigate and very similar to the CW Seed channel app. It will be interesting to see if they keep 2 separate apps, or eventually combine the CW Seed with the CW app.

More from the developer:

“Instantly watch any CW show for free anytime you want. The CW is the only place to see superheroes like Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, award-winning comedies like Jane The Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, new shows like No Tomorrow and Frequency, and fan favorites like Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, iZombie, The 100, Reign, and The Originals. Watch every episode the day after it airs for free. Or, if you get behind, we’ll always have the last 5 aired episodes available so you can catch up. You don’t need a cable subscription, a credit card or anyone’s password because there’s no login. Ever. Just add the channel and get streaming.”

You can add the CW Channel app to your Roku via the onscreen channel store or you can click here to add it to your Roku online.
